    The University of Pennsylvania Journal of Law & Public Affairs (JLPA) provides a novel forum for scholarship that responds to pressing policy issues with solutions that are both thought-provoking and reasonable. JLPA is designed to serve as a research tool for policymakers, practitioners, judges, academics, students, and all interested readers.

    Alana Bevan is the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Law & Public Affairs, Volume 6. During law school, Alana  has held internships with the Washington, D.C. office of Gibson, Dunn and Crutcher LLP and the Honorable Robert B. Kugler and had conducted research for Professor Sophia Lee and Professor Dave Hoffman. Prior to law school, she lived and worked in D.C. for six years and originally hailed from Canada. She received a PhD in history from Johns Hopkins University and graduated with honors from the University of Alberta with a degree in History.

    JLPA is excited as it prepares for its 2024 symposium to be held at the University of Pennsylvania Law School on February 5th. Months of planning will shortly culminate to bring an educational and interesting conversation on the issue of affordable housing, poverty and race. JLPA is committed to creating spaces for critical discussions on issues of policy that matter to us. Register here. We look forward to seeing you there!

    This program has been approved for 4.0 ethics CLE credits for Pennsylvania lawyers. CLE credit may be available in other jurisdictions as well. Attendees seeking CLE credit should bring separate payment in the amount of $160.00 ($80.00 public interest/non-profit attorneys) cash or check made payable to The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania.
